Mrs. Brown – Elementary Music

Hi, my name is Amanda Brown and I am in my 2nd year of teaching at Velva!
I grew up in Minnesota and graduated in 2012 from Hayfield High School and went to University at Augustana in Sioux Falls, SD. It was there that I met my husband, Kaleb. I was a long term sub in the Sioux Falls Public School District for a year. My husband got moved up to Minot for his job in 2018 after which I started teaching at Velva. This year I am so excited to be joining the Music Faculty as the Elementary Music Teacher. I am having so much fun sharing my love for music with my students!
My husband and I keep ourselves busy with our two dogs, Kona and Deeks. We love to travel back to South Dakota and Minnesota. We love going camping and we will happily take suggestions on where to pitch our tent next! We travel yearly to Arizona to see family and to spend some time at Lake Powell where we boat, wake surf, wake board, and paddle board to our heart’s delight! I am a big crafter, I sew, knit, crochet, paint, and bead in my free time. I always have a project to keep me busy in my free time.
